Then my shoes started to squeak........

Okay so I have been going back and forth on this whole blogging thing. I really wanted to stick with one thing, and then I thought nahhh, just blog. Then last night, common sense set in....just blog about the interesting things (to me, not you) in my life.

I read about a woman who blogged about being homeless, I read tons of blogs about how to save money and cutting coupons, and I also read about my generation and the history of Bay City, Michigan. So here I go........

Like my title says, " My life all wrapped up in a little warm fuzzy blog!"

My life today:

My washer died last week, and we had it looked at Monday. Of course Mr. and Mrs Hartley, it is not fixable! Great, just what we wanted to hear. My washer has been good to me. It has been here since I bought the house 7 years ago, but the only problem is, is that it is stackable. These babies are on the pricey side. So, because of this, I made my trip to the laundry mat down the street. The last time I was pretty sure I could do all my laundry for about $10. Oh no, not today! After $20.50 and six loads, had a new washer installed this evening!!! I do have to let you in on a little secret, it is nice to get all the laundry done all at once! And I got to do a little people watching today! Fun!!!

I then proceeded to go shopping and utilize my coupon clipping skills! Target was my winning store today!! Here is all I bought:

It might be hard to see but here is the run down:
2 boxes of Lucky Charms 5.08
3 Boxes of Special K Crackers 7.17
1 box of Special K pretzel bars 2.39
2 bags of Combos 3.54
4 Single serving of Cinnamon Toast Crunch 4.00
1 Bag of Wonka Gummies 1.59
2 Baby Bottles 2.00
1 Glade Tin Candle 2.99
1 Glade Tin Refill 2.99
1 Quattro for Woman Razor 6.99
1 Quattro Elec. Razor for Woman 9.94
1 Box of Hefty Big Garbage Bags 5.69
1 10 piece Math Set 3.99
1 3 subject Notebook 3.49
4 Beach toys (beach balls, rafts) 3.17
Total would have been 68.92 (including tax)
I paid........$24.93!!!
A short summary of some of the coupons:
I got all the single servings of CTC ceral for free.
I got both shavers for free plus made $1 off one of them.
I got the candle refills for free, plus an extra .50 taken off.
I got the LC ceral for $.54 a piece.
And both bags of combos for $.77 a piece.
It takes some time to cut and plan, but as you can see, well worth it!!!
It was a great end to my day!!!

Last time I blogged, it was about being excited for the next two weeks. And I was. And now its over.

The first trip was great. Kenny's Sun City Carnival Tour! It is always an awesome concert and better yet, I got to see my favorite band of all time, Sugarland. =] It was nice spending the three days in Detroit. And I loved how we tailgated!!

The second trip was great. I got to spend some time with my long time friend, Angie. It was great to see her and know that she is doing well. We all (Ang, me and Chase) went into the city one day and did some sightseeing, which was very cool. I have only been there to shop. We also bummed around, it was raining all week, but I have went to the greatest store on earth. Yes, a Super Target!!!

I never realized that Target could get any better, boy, was I wrong!!

Friday we left and went to my Aunts and Uncles in Bloomington. My uncle is a lawyer and had to stay close to home for work. It was a great weekend though. All we did was lounge by the pool and drink! It was a very nice ending to our vacation.

Now this weekend, our last camping weekend of the year. (maybe) I am super excited but also ready to slow down a bit. I always run myself crazy and this week it is catching up with me. So I am going to enjoy this weekend, and hope that my husband has a GREAT birthday weekend and be with great friends and of course....have a few drinks. =]

I have been looking forward to the next two weeks forever it seems like. I have been swamped with homework lately, and while doing homework everything else was pushed to the side. So I decided today that things can wait. Tomorrow I leave for Detroit. Every year around this time me, my MIL, SIL, and great friends head to see Kenny Chesney and his crew. This year it is Sugarland (MY FAV), Miranda Lamber, Montgomery Gentry, and Lady Antebellum (love them too!) This weekend is for me. I need my weekend with my girls. I need the fun, excitement, and yes.... the booze! It will be nice to get away for three days this year, because usually its only two. And even though Josh says, "Why do you need a vacation, you don't work." But sometimes I feel like I am busier now, than when I am working! Is that possible, I think so!

Next week Chase and I are going on our second road trip together. Our first one was about 8 years ago, we went to Disney World. He really doesn't remember that, but next week we are off to Chicago. We will spend time with my friend Angie Woo for the first four days and then off to the big city to see some old friends and spend the weekend with my uncle and aunt. We are super excited. I am sure I will have lots to blog about hopefully during, but if not after I get back! Check back soon!! Back to cutting coupons!!!

I haven't attended a baby shower in about three years. This year I have had four so far. And three where in the same weekend. (One of the baby showers was my sisters. I cannot wait for little Sophia to come in to this world. The shower was awesome, and after planning it, and the wedding, I know for sure I missed my calling.) So you can imagine, I have babies on the mind. But stop right there, I know what you are thinking and the answer is no. Well, at least not until Josh and I get a new house, and win the lotto. =]
It is a nice warm and fuzzy feeling to think about having a little baby. They are so cute, warm, soft, and smell so good. I wonder what it would be like to go back to that stage again. Chase is 10 years old. Wow. What a age difference that would be. I do find myself asking other moms what are the difference in age between their kids. Some may think I am strange, but I want to know how it would work. I did tell Josh that I would not want to be pregnant during the summer. I mean come on, camping, beer tents, you know, the normal Bay Cityian life.
Will it happen??? No one knows. =]

Although I am laid off and not working, I still cherish my camping trips! We just got back from a a 10 day adventure to Otsego State Park. It is in Gaylord Michigan, and it is beautiful up there! Some people ask, "how do you do it or how can you stand all the bugs"? Well there is just something about waking up and having nothing to do but to decide your 3 meals. And for me, a person always on the run, it is challenging at times. This year we ran into some issues with Josh's work not letting him take time off. So he brought me up, went back home, and then came back up to get me and Chase. So most of the week, I didn't have a car. Now, most of you know that I am always busy and always doing something. Yeah, I went crazy about the 3rd day I didn't have a car there! But then I forced myself to enjoy it. Chase and I headed to the beach and enjoyed our days together.
As for the bugs, there really isn't any other than your occasional moths, or spiders. But you just kill them and move on. They don't hurt you.
We had a wonderful vacation, and now it is back to following my planner daily! I missed it!!! What can I say, I am a busy girl and I am on the go....all the time!!!

8 Years?!?!?!?!

As I am getting ready for class tonight, I have to sit back and think how far I have come. Most of you know, I had Chase at a young age, (19) and I was just trying to get by. I started going to Delta in 2000 and then things got harder and I had to work 2 jobs. Being a single parent is not easy and I bow down to those who do it with no help. I know I am thankful everyday that my family was there by myside. But I didn't quit, as soon my luck turned around and GM knocked on my door, I went right back to school. So yes, if you add that up, I have been going to college, ummm around 8 years.
I can remember days sitting in class thinking, oh my I am the oldest one in this class, what am I doing here. But I kept my head up, because I knew I had to do this. Now 8 years later, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I will receive my Bachelors in December! Two more semesters!
And I don't plan on stopping there!
So tonight's class is Interpersonal Communication. It is one of my favorite classes so far. Communication is so important in any relationship you have. You have to be able to communicate to be effective in anything you do. College has been really good to me. I have found out more about myself, about who I am, and what I really want to become. Not so much as a profession, but the kind of person I want to be for husband and my son.
Well off to class. I have a presentation to do tonight on communication through email! Cross your fingers I do good!!!!

Rain, again? Haven't we had enough these last couple of months? I guess it is good because my flowers got watered, and I didn't have to do it!! Yeah, one last thing!! Since being laid off, I really was able to work more in my yard and plant more flowers. Usually I don't have time. (imagine that!) This year we (me and the hubby) managed to re-landscape the front yard and put all stones in instead mulch. I found the little squirrels have been taking my mulch and building their nest with it. Along with our snowman's scarf from this year's frosty. Oh, yeah, I was sitting at my desk and all of a sudden I see a scarf flying in the air, and then up the tree! Poor frosty, his neck was cold til the sun came out.
Do you find yourself sleepy when it rains? I do! I sure do sleep good when it is raining. I wonder if it rained all last night? When I sleep good, I snore. I can't help it and I'm not ashamed. I mean everyone snores once in awhile, right? (mmmmm) Well I was just informed I yelled at my husband last night. I don't recall this, but he claims I did. (I'll just agree) He says he woke me up and said, "Honey turnover, you're snoring." And I precede to yell, "Oh, wow, Allison is snoring, big surprise! Newflash!! Allison's snoring!!" Then, I turned on my belly, and was out. How funny is that. =]

Okay, so I'm back! I am going to try real hard to devote time to this everyday! I have manage to spiff up my page (is that a word?) and add some wedding pics. Enjoy!!

What's new Allison??

Well some of you got to read my wedding blog I had during the planning and saw the joy that I had doing it. I absoulutly loved planning my wedding. I really do feel like I missed my calling! Maybe someday I will get into the event planning business. ( Add that to my list!) I could go on and on about my wedding and how perfect it was, but I won't. Let me just say, we are truly blessed! I might blog about it from time to time, but if you have any questions, just ask!! If you have anything you need help with planning, ask! I would be more than willing to do it, and for free!!!

Virgin Blogger

I hear everyone talking about Blogging and really wanted to find out first hand what this is all about. Then I decided to try it out. Everyone tells me I have quite the busy life and I am always doing something. So I thought, why not share with everyone what I do, and how I manage my time. I really hope you enjoy this blog. Feel free to contact me and give me suggestions, or ideas or maybe crititize me. (It's okay, I can take it) I am getting married soon, so I will try to work on this more, but it will be slowly until after the wedding. I will even share with you all about that. I think I truly missed my calling to be an event planner. Anyways...enjoy!!!
